Gregg Alf

Born 1957 in Los Angeles, Gregg spent eight years in Cremona, Italy, where he graduated from the International Violin Making School in 1980. Now head of ALF STUDIOS (www.alfstudios.com) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Gregg specializes both in replicas of classic Italian instruments and in personal models that combine cutting edge science and innovation with his expertise in old instruments. Exceptionally open about sharing his craft, he is a ‘Hors Concours’ member of the Violin Society of America, and has served on the jury of numerous International Competitions.
