Elizabeth Vander Veer Shaak founded Mount Airy Violins & Bows located in historic northwest Philadelphia in 2003. She retired in 2023 and sold MAVB to her employees. The shop continues on and is thriving. You can contact MAVB at 215-438-9031.
Elizabeth is still making bows part-time at MAVB, mentoring businesses that are concerned about succession and/or giving employees a stake in the success of the business. She is also actively pursuing her research on graduations of historic bows.
